Training
Skyhawk provides the full portfolio of aviation training. Training is conducted at Lanseria International Airport, one of the most dynamic hubs of airline and corporate charter activity. The benefits of training in this environment are numerous, the greatest being the knowledge and experience that the future pilot will gain, knowing he or she can operate in any airspace or into any airport with confidence.
Newly qualified commercial pilots are also perfectly positioned to interact with charter operators, whom we are neighbours with here at Lanseria.
We aim to dispel any misconceptions about unnecessarily expensive training and to set you on a solid foundation for your future career. The general flying area (GFA) is a few minutes’ flying time away, reducing overall flight costs and maximizing the training-to-flight time.
We conduct all training on traditional, tried and tested, flight instrument equipped Cessna 172 and Piper Seneca aircraft. These aircraft are the international staple of ab-initio training, which properly prepares the candidate for the realities of commercial aviation. While modern glass cockpits are the way of the future, the current training versions available in General Aviation are not representative of traditional commercial transport aircraft and in all likelihood, your first job will be on aircraft equipped in the standard, traditional way.
Our Career Pilot Program (CPP) allows the aspirant career Commercial Pilot to progress through a defined and structured career path, which includes working as a flight instructor at Skyhawk Aviation.
In all cases we recommend that the aspiring pilot come in and see us that the process can be explained in detail. Courses are offered on a full time or part time basis, structured entirely around your needs and time frame.
Training courses include, but are not limited to:
- Private Pilot Licence
- Night Rating
- Commercial Pilot Licence
- ATPL Preparation
- Instrument Rating
- Initial Multi-Engine Rating
- Instructors Rating
- Simulator Training
- PPL and CPL Ground School theory classes
- Boeing 737 NG Procedural trainer
- Airbus 320 Type rating
- RVSM and RNAV Training
We also provide Hire and Fly options for recreational flyers with Structured Hour building for the Commercial License offered in bulk packages to suit your needs. All future students are encouraged to make an appointment with one of our administration associates to discuss the courses.
